About

Posters in Parliament was launched in 2013 by the British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR) to bring together an outstanding collection of the best undergraduate research from across the country in an academic poster exhibition. The event was originally inspired by Posters on the Hill, where students presented their work to the House of Representatives and the Senate in the USA.

Established in 2011, BCUR is an open coalition of universities dedicated to encouraging a national culture of undergraduate research, which continues to support Posters in Parliament.

Each year Members of Parliament (MPs), Peers, policymakers and academics attend to view the poster exhibition and discuss firsthand some of the innovative student research taking place around the country. It is also an opportunity for the students to share their research and ideas with each other.

On behalf of BCUR, The University of Warwick has organised Posters in Parliament since 2023, led by both Professor Jane Bryan and the Student Research team in the Institute for Advanced Teaching and Learning.

Student Testimonials

Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science James Lawless, TD, speaking at PsO 2025

Enzo Lim, University of Warwick, Posters in Parliament Presenter 2026

Attending the Posters in Parliament event was an incredibly rewarding experience! It was an honour to represent the University of Warwick and to share my research on how Earth Observation can support UK carbon storage monitoring and mitigate geohazard risks.

I really enjoyed the day, especially the chance to network with fellow undergraduate researchers from across the UK! It was inspiring to connect with other students who were equally passionate about their work and to see the diverse range of research being undertaken.

I also had the chance to engage in meaningful discussions with MPs such as John Slinger so they could learn more about what’s happening in the world of research and to bridge the gap between academia and government policy.

The experience has definitely motivated me to keep pursuing research and to share the outcomes that we work so hard on to achieve!
